Hoo boi a long read for sure. Maybe we should improve society somewhat... Or at the very least remember that our social structures are not set in stone but things we can decide to change. We may have lost the freedom to move away, to disobey orders along the way, but we should not relinquish the last freedom to imagine and put in place a different social order, and maybe we can get the first two freedoms back along the way
@chwiggy@books.theunseen.city ohh maybe i should read this thing again. there's so much in it (but iirc this thing suffers from an acute case of "the individual points that build up to the thesis take up chapters that are so long they're sometimes hard to read in one sitting without it all blending into mental mush")

@stuebinm@preprint.books.exposed I definitely had to read this book like I would read a thesis when I still studied history. Which uh was quite time consuming while having a near full-time job
